World Ranked Scooter Rider Alexandra Madsen Visits North Van and is Offering Lessons at North Shore Bike Park.

North Vancouver, BC - July 29, 2024 - North Shore Bike Park is excited to announce a special visit from Alexandra Madsen, a world-ranked professional scooter rider from New Zealand. Madsen, known for her incredible skills and passion for the sport, will offer exclusive private lessons at the indoor facility, providing a unique opportunity for local riders to learn from one of the best in the industry.

Madsen has gained international acclaim for her innovative tricks and dedication to promoting scootering worldwide. Her visit to North Vancouver will give a few riders of all ages and skill levels a rare chance to receive expert coaching and inspiration from a top-tier athlete.

So far, Madsen has competed in four competitions this year:

  • January: New Zealand Scooter Nationals in Napier, New Zealand, where she placed 1st.

  • February: Oceania Scooter Park Championships, securing 1st place.

  • June: FISE in Montpellier, France, where she placed 6th.

  • July: FISE Experience competition in France, where she placed 1st.

Her next competition is the World Championships in September, held in Rome. “The course is looking pretty crazy this year as it is a massive concrete bowl, a little different to what I'm used to, but I'm excited to give it a go & go for that top spot!” Madsen said.

The lessons are available Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m., 10 to 11 a.m., and 11 to 12 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 to 12 p.m. during the month of August. North Shore Bike Park is the largest indoor bike park in Western Canada. It is known for its pump track, jump lines, ramps, wooden features, and urban scooter and skate zone. Madsen will cover various aspects of scootering, including foundational skills, advanced techniques, and personalized tips to help riders elevate their performance.

“I love that North Shore Bike Park offers an indoor facility for the kids and adults to have fun!” she said. “I'm super excited to be coaching here at the bike park, sharing some of my knowledge and tips from my professional riding experience. I enjoy coaching as I get to see the rider's progression, and seeing them learn something new, like their first Tailwhip, is always such a great accomplishment. The joy and excitement after landing a new trick or learning something new is what it's all about.”

Riders interested in participating can register through the North Shore Bike Park's website: https://www.northshorebikepark.ca/alexandramadsen. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged!
