We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counsellors to join our team and create an unforgettable summer camp experience for young campers.

 

As a Bike Camp Counsellor, you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating bike-related activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend your passion for cycling with mentorship and outdoor education.  

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Safety Oversight:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols during all activities to ensure the well-being of campers.
  • Conduct pre-activity safety briefings and ensure that all participants adhere to safety guidelines.

Supervision and Support

  • Lead and supervise campers during all activities and ensure their adherence to camp rules.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to campers, fostering a positive and inclusive camp environment.

Activity Planning

  • Develop and implement a variety of biking activities, including group rides, skill clinics, and games.
  • Create lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and age groups within the camp.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Provide regular updates on campers’ progress and address any concerns or issues promptly.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other camp counsellors and staff to create a cohesive and supportive camp community.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and contribute to the overall success of the camp.

Qualifications

  • Passion for cycling and outdoor activities.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting.
  • Basic knowledge of bike maintenance and safety practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First Aid and certification preferred but not absolutely required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
